Ingrid LaVoie - Ballet and Ballroom Dancing

Ingrid LaVoie - Ballet and Ballroom Dancing

Ingrid doesn’t remember a time when she was not dancing. She recalls as a young child connecting dance with all things joyful and beautiful, and later in her life came to see that joy as a direct gift from God. Her official training in dance began with Ballet lessons at a young age, and she added Modern, Lyrical, Jazz, and Contemporary Dance through her teen years. She found her true passion in ballroom dance and earned the competitive Gold Star rank from the National German Dance Association. After coming to the US, Ingrid found a new love in musical theatre and has inspired many dancers through numerous choreographies in the Spokane area. Her teaching credentials include ballet at Whitworth University, folk and ballroom in the homeschool community, and musical theatre choreographies for the Spokane Civic Theater, the Spokane Children’s Theater, the Oaks Classical Christian Academy, and Northwest Christian High School. Ingrid currently teaches Dance Explorations through Shine Youth Fund and Musical Theatre Dance at the Civic Academy. In her free time, she continues to dance in the dance program at Whitworth University and Step in Time Dance studio. Ingrid is excited to point dancers to the joy and beauty that comes from the skillful and creative exploration of dance, and ultimately desires to encourage dancers in the worship of their Creator.
