Colin Foster - Piano & Cello

[Student Teacher] Beginning and Intermediate
Cost per Month: $73.50 (weekly half-hour lessons) Register here.
Colin Foster began studying piano at age 5. His teachers have included Dr. Lynne Garrett of the Santa Maria Philharmonic Society, and he is currently studying with our very own Nursulu Dyikanbaeva. He began playing the cello as a ten year old and currently studies with Yevgeniy Grechko. In the last two years Colin has served as the piano accompanist at Baywood Park Community Church and the organist and choral accompanist at Zion Lutheran Church in San Luis Obispo in California. These positions have given him a wide variety of musical leadership and performance opportunities, uncommon for young man of his age.
Colin enjoys passing on both his technical skills and his pure joy for music to his students. He wants his students to be deeply musically literate, expressive communicators. Colin moved to Spokane in order to attend The Oaks, and plans to attend New Saint Andrews College when he graduates. He understands that music is powerful gift from the Lord and wants to pursue a path in music specifically in serving Christ’s body.

“The Lordship of Christ should include an interest in the arts. A Christian should use these arts to the glory of God, not just as tracts, mind you, but as things of beauty to the praise of God.”

-Francis A. Schaeffer, Art and the Bible
