Masterworks Masterclass

Instructor: Mr. John Gardner

Join The Oaks Conservatory as we attend the Spokane Symphony! Enjoy a catered dinner while conductor, arranger, and brass instructor John Gardner demystifies symphonic music. His 60-minute presentation will include program notes for that evening’s performance, along with historical and biographical details about the composers, works, and musical styles. This concert preview will prime your ears to be fully captivated as you engage with performances of the following historic masterworks:

  • NOVEMBER 2: “An American Celebration” features all-American music, celebrating the 100th anniversary of Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue. Concert info from the Spokane Symphony HERE.
  • JANUARY 18: “Beethoven vs. A.I.” will feature Beethoven’s unfinished 10th Symphony in two forms – first completed by composer Barry Cooper, then by Artificial Intelligence. Concert info HERE.
  • MARCH 29: Featuring violinist Mateusz Wolski performing Max Bruch’s Violin Concerto No. 1 alongside Sibelius’ First Symphony.  A must-see for aspiring violinists! Concert info HERE.

  • Adults: $85 each (per event)  |  $225 for all three Masterclasses
  • Students: $20 each (per event)  |  $45 for all three Masterclasses

Spring Recitals

Students of all ages, instruments, and levels of proficiency will take to the stage as we celebrate their hard work and the gifts that God has poured out on His people. All are welcome to attend. Each 60-minute recital will be comprised of a completely unique lineup of performers. Students wishing to participate will have the opportunity to sign up beginning in late April. 

 

June 4th & 5th with performances beginning promptly at 4:00, 5:30, and 7:00 pm.


Performances will be held in The Oaks Great Hall.
