Kick your summer into high gear and grow your performance abilities by leaps and bounds.
Join The Oaks Conservatory for a summer intensive designed to push you out of your comfort zone and stretch you as a performer. Our goals are ambitious but simple: Get performers out of their heads and into their bodies. This 30-hour intensive will focus specifically on the movement of musical theatre with a heavy emphasis on dance technique. So yes, puns intended.
Participants will learn the foundations of ballet technique and vocabulary, choreograph and block their own musical theatre vocal solo, and synthesize everything they learn in a show-stopping chorus number.
Not only will you be challenged during camp – there are a few things you’ll need to have prepared before you arrive. More on that below…
What to bring:
- Wear modest, athletic clothing – no jeans or shorts. Freedom of movement is key. Please ask if you have questions.
- Sack lunch and plenty of water – electrolyte beverages welcome
- A musical theatre solo number of your choice, mostly learned.
- The music for the chorus number learned and mostly memorized.
- Something to write with.
- Your Bible
